Mark T. Nelson

Mark T. Nelson is a Venture Partner at Madrona Ventures based in Seattle, Washington. He previously served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Tableau until late 2022, having initially joined as Executive Vice President of Product Development to lead engineering teams through the company's $16 billion acquisition by Salesforce. Before Tableau, Nelson directed development for Concur ahead of its $8 billion acquisition by SAP, and he spent seventeen years as a Vice President and Architect at Oracle, where he helped scale its middleware business to $6 billion in revenue. He currently holds board seats at CircleCI and the AI startup Veezoo, and he earned a Master of Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Nelson now focuses on evaluating early-stage investments and advising portfolio companies across data analytics, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise software.
