Mark Kavelaars

Mark Kavelaars is the Founder and Managing Partner at Swanlaab Venture Factory and a Venture Partner at Crescendo Venture Partners, based in Madrid, Spain. Prior to establishing Swanlaab in 2014, he served as the CEO of IVC Spain and held corporate roles including CRM-Change Manager at Hewlett Packard Iberia and Business Development Manager at Compaq Computer Europe. His 28-year career also includes wealth management experience at HypoVereinsbank in Germany and an MBA from the European Business School. At Swanlaab, Kavelaars oversees multiple investment vehicles, including a €40 million inaugural tech fund and the recently launched Tech Fund II, which secured a €45 million first close with backing from BBVA and Fond-ICO Global. His current investment strategy centers on providing capital to early-stage B2B deep tech and agrifood technology startups operating within the Spanish market.
