Mario Chaves

Mario Chaves is the President of the Americas at Encora, a global software engineering services company, and is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to this role, he co-founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Avantica Technologies, a nearshore software development firm that he scaled across Latin America over two decades. Under his leadership, Avantica grew to encompass hundreds of engineers before being acquired in 2019 by Encora, which is backed by the global private equity firm Warburg Pincus. Earlier in his career, he held various technical and management positions in the software industry after earning both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Davis. His professional focus remains on expanding nearshore digital engineering capabilities and integrating distributed software development teams across the Americas.
