Mariano Mayer

Mariano Mayer is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Newtopia VC and the President of ARCAP, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Before transitioning to venture capital, he served as the General Director of Entrepreneurship for the Buenos Aires City Government under Mayor Mauricio Macri and later as Argentina’s National Secretary of Entrepreneurs and Small and Medium Enterprises. During his eight years in public service, Mayer implemented support models for accelerators, incubators, and startups totaling over $100 million. He also founded Marea Venture Partners to focus on corporate venturing before launching Newtopia VC, which recently invested in 52 early-stage projects across 10 Latin American countries within a single year. His current investment focus centers on providing $100,000 to $5 million checks to early-stage Latin American startups operating in sectors like enterprise software and property technology.
