Mariam Kamel

Mariam Kamel is the Manager of AUC Angels, an early-stage angel investor network based in Cairo, Egypt. With over 15 years of capital markets experience, she oversees operations for the Middle East and North Africa’s first university-affiliated angel group, which was established in 2018 in partnership with AUC Venture Lab. Under her leadership, the network has successfully funded 14 startups and provided strategic advisory services to nearly a dozen others across sectors like financial technology, ecommerce, health tech, and logistics. Prior to her current role, Kamel worked in investment banking advising on mergers and acquisitions, cofounded the family wellness center FLOW, and earned degrees from Concordia University and the American University in Cairo. Her current focus centers on facilitating pre-seed, seed, and pre-Series A funding for technology startups operating throughout Egypt and sub-Saharan Africa.
