Maria Velissaris is the Founding and Managing Partner of SteelSky Ventures, a venture capital firm based in Atlanta, Georgia. She currently oversees $73 million in assets under management, directing capital toward women's healthcare innovations across medical devices, digital health, ePharmacy, and retail therapeutics. Since establishing the fund in 2020, Velissaris has executed more than 14 investments in notable healthcare and logistics companies, including 23andMe and Zipline. Prior to her career in venture capital, she operated as a serial entrepreneur and co-founded the student shipping and storage business Collegeboxes, which was subsequently acquired by U-Haul. She also holds a 2009 MBA from NYU Stern, where she received the 2020 Business Alumni Changemaker award. Her current investment strategy focuses exclusively on scaling early-stage healthcare enterprises that improve medical access, equity, and clinical outcomes for women.
