Maren Bannon

Maren Bannon is a Managing Partner at January Ventures, a seed-stage venture capital firm based in San Francisco, California. Before co-leading January Ventures, she served as a Partner at Initialized Capital and held investment roles at Thrive Capital, following her early career as an operator in various technology startups. Bannon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Columbia University and has backed over 20 portfolio companies, including notable investments in Notion and Brex during her previous tenures. Under her leadership, January Ventures manages more than $100 million in total assets, recently closing its $75 million Fund III in January 2024 and leading a seed investment in FlowAI in March 2025. Her current investment focus centers on providing operational support to early-stage software, B2B SaaS, consumer internet, and climate technology startups.
