Marcus Behrendt

Marcus Behrendt is the Managing Partner at BMW i Ventures, based in Munich, Germany. He oversees the corporate venture arm's investments across North America and Europe, targeting Series A and B funding rounds of up to $10 million. Under his leadership, the firm completed a record 18 follow-on investment rounds in 2023, earning him recognition on the Global Corporate Venturing Powerlist. Prior to his current role, Behrendt spent over 25 years in the automotive industry, serving as Vice President of User Experience at BMW for five years, Head of European Operations at JD Power for seven years, and holding project management positions at Mercedes-Benz. He holds a degree from Technische Universität Berlin and completed an executive venture capital program at UC Berkeley Haas. His current focus centers on funding deep tech, artificial intelligence, and autonomous mobility startups.
