Marcos Milla currently serves as a Venture Partner at Samsara BioCapital, where he leverages his extensive background in biotechnology to guide investment strategies. Previously, he was the Chief Scientific Officer at Synthorx from 2017 to 2020, directing the company's scientific operations until its acquisition by Sanofi in January 2020. Before joining Synthorx, Milla held senior research and development positions across several major pharmaceutical firms, including Janssen R&D, Roche, and GlaxoSmithKline. Additionally, he served at Adaptive Biotechnologies and has been an Adjunct Faculty member at the UCSD Skaggs School of Pharmacy since 2018. He completed postdoctoral fellowships at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Duke University after earning a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Saint Louis University in 1990. Milla focuses on advancing therapies across immuno-oncology, autoimmunity, and neurosciences through the discovery of small and large molecule modulators.
