Marcelo Bigal

Marcelo Bigal is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Ventus Therapeutics and a Venture Partner at Versant Ventures in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Under his leadership, Ventus raised a $60 million Series A backed by GV and a $100 million Series B led by RA Capital Management. Previously, he served as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President at Purdue Pharma, and as Chief Medical Officer and Chief Scientific Officer at Teva Pharmaceuticals. At Teva, he directed the clinical development of the approved neurological therapies Ajovy and Austedo. A neurologist holding an MD and PhD, he previously served on the neurology faculty at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and has authored over 330 peer-reviewed papers. His career centers on advancing small molecule drug discovery and clinical development across the neurology and immunology sectors.
