Malcolm-Wiley Floyd is the CEO and Cofounder of Stairs Financial, a venture-backed financial technology startup based in New York, New York. Founded in 2021 and accelerated in the Y Combinator Winter 2022 batch, the 10-employee company builds software that connects first-time, low-income homebuyers across the United States with government grants, specialized loans, and tax breaks for down payment assistance. Prior to launching this second entrepreneurial venture, Floyd worked as a management consultant at McKinsey and gained early operational experience at technology platforms Catalant and B12. He earned a degree in economics from Harvard University and currently operates as a licensed mortgage broker under the national NMLS identifier 2436243. His professional focus centers on the intersection of fintech, proptech, and govtech, utilizing existing public sector programs to systematically increase homeownership accessibility for young Americans.
