Magdalena Kala

Magdalena Kala is the Founder and General Partner of Double Down, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Miami, Florida. She currently manages a $30 million oversubscribed fund launched in 2022 that targets pre-seed through Series B investments in consumer web3 startups. Prior to launching her own venture firm, Kala spent seven years as a Vice President at Bain Capital Private Equity and served as a Partner at PagsGroup, the family office of Steve Pagliuca. During her private equity tenure, she evaluated consumer brands and notably invested in Sundial Brands before its acquisition by Unilever. Her earlier career includes consulting for Snap Inc., alongside earning an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Kala currently focuses on bridging human behavior with emerging technologies to drive mainstream consumer adoption across web3, gaming, and media.
