Maarten Derks

Maarten Derks is the Co-founder and Managing Partner of TIN Capital, a venture capital firm based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Before establishing the venture firm in 1998, he gained corporate mergers and acquisitions experience at Shell and BT, and successfully exited three information technology startups as an entrepreneur. Derks currently oversees the Dutch Security TechFund IV and the European Cyber TechFund V, the latter of which recently secured an additional €15 million toward an €80 million target to back 12 investments. Under his leadership, TIN Capital has built a portfolio of cybersecurity companies that includes BreachLock, Eye Security, and EclecticIQ, following a previous fund that generated five exits from 18 investments. His current investment strategy focuses on funding European cybersecurity scaleups at the Series A and B stages that demonstrate scalable technology and global market potential.
