Lucas Pabarcius is the co-founder and CEO of Atum Works, a Y Combinator-backed nanomanufacturing startup based in Mountain View, California. Prior to founding the company, he studied physics at Caltech and researched within Stanford University's Brains in Silicon Lab before dropping out to pursue aerospace engineering. During his tenure at NASA, Pabarcius worked on optics, electric propulsion, and attitude-control systems, where he developed the world's fastest-burning hybrid rocket engine and won the agency's Most Visionary Concept award. At Atum Works, he has built the first three-dimensional nano-printer, aiming to produce semiconductor manufacturing equipment at one-tenth the cost of traditional lithography, and secured a co-development letter of intent from NVIDIA. Drawing on his background in computational mathematics, Pabarcius currently focuses on advancing gigascale three-dimensional nanomanufacturing to establish the next scaling law for global semiconductor production and hardware development.
