Lucas Ewing is the CEO and Co-founder of Lilac, an AI infrastructure startup participating in the Y Combinator Summer 2025 batch. Raised in Stockholm before relocating to the United States, he graduated from Harvey Mudd College in 2023. During his undergraduate studies, Ewing worked as a software engineer at Nara Logics, a Series A artificial intelligence company, and served as a student engineer for Shopify on his senior capstone project. Additionally, he won a collegiate competition hosted by Teradata and Tableau. He established Lilac alongside his brother Ryan Ewing, who previously spent five years as an engineer at Amazon Web Services, to develop an open-source platform that aggregates scattered compute resources into a unified fabric for managing AI training jobs. Ewing currently focuses on democratizing GPU access and building scalable compute solutions for data scientists navigating hardware shortages.
