Lorenss Martinsons

Lorenss Martinsons is the founder and Chief Product Officer of HUD, an artificial intelligence startup based in San Francisco, California. Backed by Y Combinator as part of the W25 cohort, he leads product development for a 15-person team building reinforcement learning environments and evaluation frameworks for Computer Use Agents. Before establishing HUD in 2025, Martinsons worked on machine learning interpretability and alignment initiatives as a researcher at Hume AI. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Science from Yale University, bringing eight years of programming experience and five years of professional software development to his current enterprise. During his academic tenure, he also held formal leadership positions at the Yale Computer Society. His current professional focus centers on advancing human-centered AI product design and developing comprehensive agentic evaluation tools for frontier technology laboratories.
