Kirthi Banothu

Kirthi Banothu is the Co-founder of attimet, an artificial intelligence and trading startup based in San Francisco, California. Founded in 2024 with a three-person team, the company is backed by Y Combinator as part of its Fall 2024 cohort and focuses on developing predictive models for financial markets. Prior to launching attimet, Banothu worked in high-frequency trading at Optiver and DRW, where he engineered low-latency systems and developed strategies across futures, cryptocurrencies, equities, and options. During his tenure at Optiver, he served as a Team Lead directing the base valuation group, later transitioning to the autonomous vehicle sector to lead the onboard sensor and machine learning libraries team at Argo AI. His technical career, which began with web development in 2006, is currently focused on the intersection of machine learning infrastructure and high-performance trading systems.
