Khalid Ashmawy

Khalid Ashmawy is the Founder and CEO of Munify, a cross-border neobank for the Middle East and its diaspora, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The early-stage fintech startup recently secured $3 million in funding and was selected to participate in the Y Combinator Summer 2025 batch. Before launching Munify, he co-founded the proptech platform Huspy in 2019 and served as its Chief Technology Officer until 2022. Under his technical leadership, Huspy scaled to process $7 billion in annual transactions and secured Series B financing from investors including Sequoia Capital. Prior to his entrepreneurial ventures, he spent ten years leading software engineering teams at major technology corporations, including Microsoft and Uber. His professional background focuses on leveraging technical expertise to build scalable financial and property technology solutions tailored to Middle Eastern markets.
