Kevin Morrill is an independent software builder and technologist who is currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He previously participated in the Y Combinator Summer 2012 batch alongside co-founder Danielle Morrill to launch Referly, an early-stage startup that eventually pivoted to become a venture intelligence platform. Following this strategic pivot, Morrill served as the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Mattermark, where he designed and scaled the company's core engineering systems and data infrastructure. During his extensive tenure as the company's CTO, he helped the enterprise data platform secure more than $30 million in venture funding before its eventual acquisition by FullContact in December 2017. Today, his primary professional focus centers on independent software development, complex data architecture, and the practical applications of information theory within the broader venture capital and technology sectors.
