Kai Yee Wan

Kai Yee Wan is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of the Y Combinator backed technology startup Blueshoe and an adjunct computer science faculty member, previously based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Wan holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At MIT CSAIL, Wan researched wireless localization under Professor Berthold K. P. Horn while serving as a teaching assistant for deep learning, visualization, and web programming courses. After earning a Graduate Teaching Certification from the MIT Teaching and Learning Lab, Wan transitioned from academia to launch Blueshoe, securing backing in the YC X25 batch. Their current professional focus centers on applying machine learning, mobile computing, and wireless networks to build scalable software engineering solutions.
