Julien Lemoine

Julien Lemoine is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Algolia, based in Paris, France. Before establishing the search-as-a-service platform in 2012, he spent over a decade developing search infrastructure and designing three distinct search engines during his tenures at Thales and Exalead. As the principal architect of the company's core algorithms, he scaled the technology to serve more than 20,000 enterprise customers, including major platforms like Stripe. Under his technical leadership, the software provider reached $80 million in annual recurring revenue in 2023 and secured a $2.25 billion valuation following a $150 million Series D funding round in 2021. Lemoine holds an engineering degree from EPITA, where he also serves as a computer science instructor. His professional background centers on advancing high-performance enterprise search technology and integrating generative artificial intelligence into developer tools.
