Julian Englert

Julian Englert is the Co-founder of Adaptyv Bio, a synthetic biology and biotechnology startup based in Lausanne, Switzerland. He holds a Master of Science in Materials Science and Biomedical Technologies, an academic background that directly informs his technical approach to building automated infrastructure for synthetic biology. Prior to launching his current venture, Englert spent one year working as a materials scientist at the Swiss health-tech startup Xsensio, eventually leaving to travel before formally transitioning into entrepreneurship. At Adaptyv Bio, he led the emerging biotechnology company through the Y Combinator Winter 2022 batch. Following this initial accelerator program, the startup publicly announced a $2.5 million pre-seed venture capital funding round in March 2023. Englert's current focus remains on scaling these automated laboratory foundries to accelerate protein engineering and testing across the broader health-tech sector.
