Jose Miguel Hernandez Lobato

Jose Miguel Hernandez Lobato is the Co-founder of Ångström AI and a Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Cambridge, based in Cambridge, United Kingdom. Before assuming his current academic and entrepreneurial roles, he served as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University and worked as a postdoctoral research associate within the Cambridge Machine Learning Group. He previously earned both a PhD and an MPhil in Computer Science from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Over the course of nearly twenty years of research experience, his academic work has accumulated over 15,000 citations, and he has engaged in corporate collaborations with major firms including Infosys Technologies. His current focus centers on applying probabilistic machine learning and deep generative models to molecular science, bridging advanced academic research with practical commercial applications across the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.
