Jose Maria Amich

Jose Maria Amich is the Co-Founder and CEO of Zeta Surgical, an AI-driven medical robotics company based in Boston, Massachusetts. He holds a degree from Harvard University and previously earned a doctorate in robotics from Imperial College London. Before establishing his current venture, Amich served as the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Levitate Technologies, a deep tech startup that was subsequently acquired by Medtronic in 2021. Under his leadership, Zeta Surgical participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2021 cohort and later secured a $40 million Series A funding round in 2024 backed by Khosla Ventures. Following FDA 510(k) clearance in 2023, the company completed its first in-human clinical trial at Singapore's National Neuroscience Institute. Amich focuses on translating academic research into commercial medical devices to advance minimally invasive neurosurgery and image-guided healthcare innovation.
