Joris Poort

Joris Poort is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rescale, a cloud-based high-performance computing platform headquartered in San Francisco, California. Before establishing the enterprise software company in 2011, he worked on product strategy at McKinsey & Company and served as a structural engineer at Boeing, where he developed software to optimize the tail weight of the commercial 787 Dreamliner. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. Under his leadership, Rescale reached a $1.05 billion valuation following a $105 million Series C funding round in November 2021, securing early investments from prominent figures including Jeff Bezos and Peter Thiel. Poort currently focuses on expanding artificial intelligence-driven engineering capabilities and scaling cloud infrastructure for global research and development.
