Jorge Torres

Jorge Torres is the Co-Founder and CEO of MindsDB and a Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley, based in Berkeley, California. He established the open-source artificial intelligence platform in 2017, scaling it to over 500,000 deployments, 38,000 GitHub stars, and $50 million in total funding from investors including Y Combinator, Benchmark, and Mayfield. Previously, Torres served as Lead Engineer at CareJourney, where he collaborated with former U.S. Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra to build healthcare systems analyzing billions of Medicare patient records. His earlier career includes serving as Co-Founder and CTO at Real Life Analytics, alongside senior software engineering roles at Skillshare and Couchsurfing. Holding a Master's degree in Information Systems from the Australian National University, Torres currently focuses on advancing enterprise artificial intelligence by integrating automated machine learning directly into existing enterprise database infrastructures.
