Jorge Guerra

Jorge Guerra is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lotas, an artificial intelligence startup based in San Francisco, California. He established the two-employee company in 2025 alongside co-founder William Nickols with backing from Y Combinator. At Lotas, Guerra focuses on developing AI tools for data science and 3D applications, including the creation of Rao, an AI coding assistant designed for the RStudio platform that serves a market of up to five million data scientists. Prior to his entrepreneurial career, he interned in Discovery Biologics at Merck and conducted undergraduate research at Harvard University. After graduating from Harvard in 2024, he entered the university's Biophysics PhD program, completing a rotation at Harvard Medical School. Guerra currently applies his academic background in protein design and biophysics to build software that facilitates complex data science workflows.
