João de Paula

João de Paula is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Mesmer, a technology startup from the X25 batch. Previously, he served as the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Origin Financial, a financial technology platform that he helped scale to a $400 million valuation. Before Origin, de Paula co-founded Glio, which operated as the first Latin American company to be accepted into the Y Combinator accelerator program during its S13 batch. As a self-taught software engineer and product leader, he has accumulated fifteen years of experience building and scaling technology products across multiple sectors. His entrepreneurial ventures have garnered international media attention, including features in El Pais and appearances on the Crossing Borders Podcast. Today, his primary focus remains on driving product development and leading executive strategy for early-stage financial technology and software ventures.
