JONATHAN SPORN

Jonathan Sporn is the Founder of Gilgamesh Pharmaceuticals and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Experimental Therapeutics at Columbia University, based between New York City and North Carolina. He holds a BS from Duke University and an MD from the University of Miami, subsequently serving as a Chief of Psychiatry in the Boston area. Sporn advanced his clinical research through academic appointments at Massachusetts General Hospital and the National Institutes of Health. Transitioning into the corporate pharmaceutical sector, he worked as a researcher at Johnson & Johnson and served as a Clinical Disease Area Expert in Neuroscience at Pfizer Inc. As an entrepreneur, he previously founded and acted as Chief Scientific Officer of Perception Neuroscience, leading the startup to a successful exit. His current focus centers on developing novel experimental therapeutics for psychiatric and neurological disorders.
