Jon Lerner

Jon Lerner is the co-founder and CEO of CoinTracker, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. He established the cryptocurrency tax compliance platform in 2017, guiding it through Y Combinator and securing a $100 million Series A funding round in 2022 that valued the enterprise at $1.3 billion. The software currently tracks tens of billions of dollars in digital assets for over one million users. Previously, Lerner served as the co-founder and CTO of TextNow, building the startup into the largest free phone service provider in the United States. Earlier, he worked as a software engineer at Google, helping launch the initial Android platform in 2008 after earning a computer engineering degree from the University of Waterloo. His professional focus centers on scaling consumer-facing financial technology platforms and developing automated tax compliance infrastructure.
