John Piotti

John Piotti is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Sensei, an artificial intelligence startup based in San Francisco, California. Backed by Y Combinator in the Winter 2024 cohort, the two-person company focuses on scaling robotic training data collection to be 2x faster and 10x cheaper than existing methods. Before launching Sensei in 2024 with co-founder Anubhav Guha, Piotti worked as a Robotics Engineer at Aurora Flight Sciences, a subsidiary of Boeing. During his tenure there, he spearheaded reinforcement learning initiatives and contributed to a DARPA-funded program developing artificial intelligence systems for autonomous fighter jet combat. He previously gained full-stack web development experience at UtilityAPI and earned a degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2019. Piotti currently focuses on optimizing data pipelines and machine learning infrastructure for the commercial robotics sector.
