John Gedmark

John Gedmark is the co-founder and CEO of Astranis Space Technologies, a satellite communications company based in San Francisco, California. Under his leadership, the firm has reached a valuation exceeding $1.5 billion and secured over $800 million in venture funding from institutional investors including BlackRock. In 2023, Astranis successfully launched its first commercial microGEO satellite, Arcturus, and the company plans to deploy a dedicated constellation of more than ten satellites by 2026 to fulfill hundreds of millions in international commercial contracts. Prior to this venture, he served as the founding Executive Director of the Commercial Spaceflight Federation and worked on advanced satellite systems and propulsion at SpaceX. Holding an aerospace engineering degree from Stanford University, Gedmark currently focuses on expanding global broadband internet access through the manufacturing and deployment of low-cost geostationary orbit satellites.
