JJ Tang

JJ Tang is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rootly, an incident management software company based in San Francisco, California. Prior to establishing the software startup, he worked in product management at Instacart, where he developed his foundational expertise in site reliability engineering and developer tools. Tang launched Rootly through the Y Combinator Winter 2021 batch, subsequently scaling the platform to serve hundreds of enterprise customers globally. The company's incident management and on-call software platform is currently utilized by major technology organizations, including Dropbox, Figma, and LinkedIn. Under his executive leadership, the firm expanded its core product offerings throughout 2023 and 2024 to include dedicated on-call management systems for complex engineering teams. Tang remains focused on expanding Rootly's global market presence within the business-to-business software sector while continuing to optimize enterprise incident response workflows.
