Jimmy Liu

Jimmy Liu is the Managing Partner at Long Journey Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in San Francisco, California. Before transitioning to venture capital, he studied computer science at Stanford University and subsequently founded and exited multiple startups focused on artificial intelligence and developer tools. Through Long Journey Ventures, which manages over $50 million in assets, Liu has built a portfolio of more than 20 companies and maintains strong ties to the Y Combinator alumni network and a16z ecosystem. In January 2026, he closed the firm's $35 million Fund II and led a seed investment in a new AI coding startup at a $50 million post-money valuation, targeting sectors similar to Replit and Scale AI. As an investor, Liu currently focuses on backing pre-seed and seed-stage founders building scalable AI infrastructure and frontier technologies.
