Jim Jen serves as a distinguished Managing Director at Innovation Works, a pivotal seed-stage investor deeply embedded in the vibrant Pittsburgh technology ecosystem. With a career marked by significant entrepreneurial success, Jim brings an invaluable founder-first perspective to his role, guiding and supporting the next generation of innovative companies.

Before joining Innovation Works, Jim Jen established himself as a serial entrepreneur, co-founding and leading several groundbreaking technology ventures. His impressive track record includes co-founding Vivisimo, an enterprise search software company that was successfully acquired by IBM, where its technology became a core component of IBM Watson Explorer. Prior to Vivisimo, he was also instrumental in co-founding Netronome, a developer of high-performance network flow processors, and Fore Systems, a pioneering company in ATM networking technology that was later acquired by GEC-Marconi. These experiences provided him with firsthand knowledge of the challenges and triumphs inherent in building and scaling technology startups from the ground up.

At Innovation Works, Jim Jen leverages this deep operational and strategic expertise to identify and invest in promising early-stage companies across various high-growth sectors.
