Jen Asher is the Founder and CEO of 1910 Genetics, an AI-driven drug discovery company based in Boston, Massachusetts. Before launching the techbio startup, she worked as a Management Consultant at Bain & Company and conducted research at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research after earning her Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics from Tufts University. Asher led 1910 Genetics through the Y Combinator Winter 2021 batch and subsequently secured a $22 million Series A funding round backed by investors including Microsoft’s M12 fund and Sam Altman. Under her leadership, the 40-person company recently finalized a five-year commercial agreement with Microsoft to integrate next-generation computing into pharmaceutical development and secured an additional $20 million in follow-on funding. Her current focus centers on bridging artificial intelligence and biological automation to accelerate the development of precision medicine therapeutics.
