Jay Xiao

Jay Xiao is the Co-founder and President of SuretyNow, an insurtech startup based in Austin, Texas. Before establishing the company in 2022 with Bruce Chi, he studied commerce and computer science at Queen's University in Canada. Xiao previously worked as a software developer at Google, where he built analytics platforms for Google Ads and Google Stadia that supported major gaming publishers like Ubisoft and Electronic Arts. At SuretyNow, he oversees platform infrastructure and automation initiatives for a four-person team that recently participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2024 batch and secured $450,000 in angel funding. Under his technical direction, the platform currently attracts 5,000 monthly website visitors and increases agent productivity to twice the industry average. Xiao focuses on modernizing the commercial insurance sector by replacing manual procurement processes with automated software for surety bonds.
