Javier Antoran

Javier Antoran is the co-founder and CEO of Ångström AI, an early-stage biotechnology startup currently based in San Francisco, United States. Founded in 2024 with an initial five-person team, the company recently participated in the Y Combinator Summer 2024 batch to develop generative artificial intelligence models for complex molecular simulations. Before launching his current venture, Antoran worked as a machine learning research engineer at an enterprise AI firm acquired by BioNTech in 2023. He previously held applied research positions at technology giants Google and Microsoft, alongside professional experience in the quantitative finance sector. Antoran earned a PhD in probabilistic modeling and generative AI for molecular systems from the University of Cambridge. His current focus centers on applying computationally efficient machine learning models to accelerate pharmaceutical drug discovery and replace traditional wet lab experiments.
