Jamie Gull is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Talyn Air, an aerospace development company based in Los Angeles, California. He holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in aerospace engineering from Stanford University. Early in his career, Gull worked as a design engineer at Scaled Composites, where he contributed to the initial sizing of the Stratolauncher and developed a 5,000-pound optionally manned aircraft. He subsequently served as a responsible engineer at SpaceX, specifically designing the Falcon 9 aft thermal shield that directly enabled the industry's first hypersonic reentry and first-stage orbital rocket reuse. Backed by Y Combinator, he now leads engineering efforts to build the world's first autonomous mid-air aircraft docking systems. His broader technical expertise encompasses aerospace vehicle sizing, welded structures, composite structural design, and advanced rocketry for sustainable aviation.
