James Ding

James Ding is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of DraftWise, an artificial intelligence-powered legal technology platform based in New York City. Prior to launching the startup, he served as an Engineering Lead at Palantir Technologies, where he specialized in building data-intensive enterprise software systems for complex organizational needs. Ding guided DraftWise through the Y Combinator Winter 2021 batch and has since secured over $25 million in total venture funding. In March 2024, he directed the firm's $20 million Series A financing round, which was spearheaded by Index Ventures and followed a previous $5 million seed investment. The platform is currently utilized by major global law firms, including Orrick and Mishcon de Reya. His current focus centers on scaling enterprise B2B software solutions that automate complex contract drafting and negotiation workflows for transactional lawyers.
