Jacob Gillespie

Jacob Gillespie is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Depot, an application infrastructure company based in London, United Kingdom. Alongside co-founder Kyle Daigle, he launched the developer tools platform during the Y Combinator Summer 2022 batch and subsequently raised a $4.1 million seed funding round in October 2023. Depot provides cloud-based container build infrastructure designed to accelerate Docker build times by up to 40x for enterprise engineering teams. Prior to establishing his current startup, Gillespie served as a Staff Software Engineer at GitHub and held various technical engineering roles at Era Software, Thorn, Webflow, and Playlist. He additionally maintains the Styled Icons open-source project and specializes in full-stack web development using compiled programming languages like Rust. His professional career primarily focuses on advancing developer productivity, continuous integration pipelines, and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions.
