Jack Ross is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Beanstalk, Inc., an agricultural technology startup based in Virginia, USA. He established the vertical farming company in 2017 alongside his brother, Michael Ross, to engineer automated hardware and software systems that increase global access to fresh produce. Prior to launching Beanstalk, Ross worked as a Software Engineer at WillowTree, Inc. from 2015 to 2017, developing SAP mobile software development kits, and previously served as a Partner at Portal Analytics, LLC between 2013 and 2015. He holds a computer engineering degree focusing on autonomous fleet robotics from the University of Virginia, which provided a strong foundation for his specialized expertise in building machines and writing software. His engineering contributions to the agricultural sector were recognized in 2018 when he received the STEM Catalyst Award from the Virginia Governor.
