Idorenyin Obong

Idorenyin Obong is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Grey, a cross-border financial technology startup based in Lagos, Nigeria. Under his executive leadership, the company participated in the Y Combinator Winter 2022 accelerator batch and subsequently secured a $2 million seed funding round in August 2022 to finance its operational expansion across East Africa. Before establishing Grey, Obong worked as a Frontend Engineer at Paystack, a prominent payment processing enterprise acquired by Stripe, where he contributed to core digital payment infrastructure. He previously gained technical experience serving as a Software Engineer at the cryptocurrency exchange Busha, building upon his academic foundation with a bachelor's degree in computer science. His current professional focus centers on developing scalable cross-border payment solutions and foreign exchange services to simplify international financial transactions for users throughout the African tech ecosystem.
