Ian Dardani

Ian Dardani is the Co-founder of Biocartesian, a biotechnology startup based in San Francisco, California. Founded in 2023 alongside Jess Li with backing from Y Combinator, the two-employee company develops molecular tools and microscopy technologies designed to capture up to 50 times more data from biological specimens than conventional methods. Dardani holds a PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, where he engineered molecular profiling tools, and a Master's degree in Bioscience Enterprise from the University of Cambridge. Prior to launching his current entrepreneurial venture, his professional experience encompassed drug delivery device engineering, fluidic system design, and life science consulting. Recognized as a University City Science Center STEM Founders Fellow, his current focus centers on bridging life sciences infrastructure and therapeutic discovery by advancing molecular visualization technologies for basic research, diagnostics, and drug development.
