Hudhayfa Nazoordeen

Hudhayfa Nazoordeen is the Co-founder and CEO of Normal, a Y Combinator-backed hardware testing and certification startup based in Waterloo, Canada. Prior to founding Normal, he gained technical engineering experience through software and research roles at several prominent technology companies, including enterprise AI provider Cohere, quantum computing firm Xanadu, and Notion. As a 20-year-old student at the University of Waterloo, Nazoordeen gained public recognition for rapidly engineering complex hardware systems, including building a functional robotic arm and a plasma-generating nuclear fusion prototype in just four weeks. He utilized Anthropic's Claude artificial intelligence models to assist in designing these systems, and is currently developing a second iteration of his fusion device with an estimated $10,000 budget. His current professional focus centers on leveraging artificial intelligence to accelerate advanced hardware engineering, rapid prototyping, and complex system certification.
