Hong Hu

Hong Hu is a serial entrepreneur and software engineering leader who is currently operating as an independent founder building new technology projects. Previously, he served as the Director of Engineering and China Site Lead at Flexport, where he managed international engineering operations and scaled the logistics unicorn company's technical presence. Before his tenure at Flexport, Hu founded 500Friends, a marketing and loyalty technology startup backed by Y Combinator as part of its Summer 2010 cohort. He directed the electronic commerce platform's operations over four years, ultimately leading the company to an acquisition by Merkle in 2014. Today, he leverages his extensive background in both enterprise and consumer markets to explore new ventures.
