Harrison Chase

Harrison Chase is the co-founder and CEO of LangChain, an artificial intelligence developer tools company based in San Francisco, California. Before launching the startup in October 2022, he led the machine learning team at Robust Intelligence after earning a degree in statistics and computer science from Harvard University. Under his leadership, the foundational open-source LangChain framework has accumulated over 100,000 GitHub stars and millions of monthly developer downloads. Chase has secured more than $85 million in venture capital funding for the enterprise, including a $10 million seed round and major equity investments from Sequoia Capital and Benchmark. He recently oversaw the 2024 commercial releases of the LangSmith testing platform and the LangGraph multi-agent workflow tool. His current professional focus centers on scaling both open-source software and commercial infrastructure for large language model applications.
