Hans Kumar

Hans Kumar is the Co-Founder of Boost Robotics, an early-stage hardware technology company based in Boston, Massachusetts. He established the two-person enterprise in 2025 alongside his longtime collaborator Hardik Singh, following a ten-year professional and academic relationship that began in 2015. The startup is currently participating in the Y Combinator Spring 2025 batch to accelerate its product development. Prior to launching this venture, Kumar gained foundational industry experience working as a robotics engineer at Boston Dynamics. He completed his academic training at Carnegie Mellon University, earning an Additional Robotics Major in May 2019 and a Master of Science in Robotics from the CMU Robotics Institute in May 2021 under the advisement of Howie Choset. Kumar's current professional focus centers on engineering autonomous mobile manipulation robots designed specifically for data center infrastructure inspection and physical maintenance.
