Hannes Furmans

Hannes Furmans is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Stillwind, an autonomous electrical engineering technology startup based in Zürich, Switzerland. Founded in 2024, the four-person enterprise was recently selected to participate in the Y Combinator Winter 2025 startup accelerator batch. Prior to establishing Stillwind, Furmans studied computer science at ETH Zürich until approximately January 2025 and briefly worked as a software engineer at Augento between September and December 2022. He brings five years of dedicated technical experience specializing primarily in distributed systems, decentralized infrastructure, and the Rust programming language. During his academic tenure, he served as a paid open-source contributor to libp2p, developing modular peer-to-peer network stacks utilized widely across multiple decentralized Web3 applications. Furmans currently focuses on leveraging his extensive software engineering background to build and scale autonomous engineering technologies for early-stage commercial deployment.
