Haakon Brunell is the Co-founder and CEO of Carbon Crusher, a climate technology company based in Oslo, Norway. Founded in 2021 and selected for the Y Combinator winter 2022 batch, the startup develops sustainable road infrastructure materials capable of sequestering up to two tons of carbon dioxide per hour. Prior to this role, Brunell served as the Co-founder and CEO of Katapult, a global seed fund and accelerator focused on sustainable development technologies. He previously worked as an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, where he developed his professional expertise in corporate strategy and venture building across multiple international markets. As an active angel investor, he has funded more than 20 early-stage impact-tech companies globally. His current career focuses on scaling climate technology startups and directing venture capital toward carbon-negative infrastructure and sustainable development goals.
